Steno Diabetes Center Odense (Danish only)
Steno Diabetes Center Odense (SDCO) opened its doors in 2018 at Odense University Hospital.
The centre has a special focus on type 2 diabetes, including research, prevention, detection, treating late complications and training healthcare professionals. Through collaborations with other hospitals and healthcare providers in the region, SDCO aims to play a major role in developing and improving diabetes care throughout southern Denmark.
The Novo Nordisk Foundation has committed up to DKK 1.4 billion (€188 million) for SDCO. The funding period runs until 2027, with a possible extension thereafter.
